Who takes a food tour?

Our tours are designed for anyone that loves great food! How many people do you take on a tour?

On a walking tour, 12 people is our maximum at this time. There will also be a 4 person minimum for the tour to run. Please note this at time of booking.

How long are the tours?

Approximately 2.5 to 3 hours long with 4-5 different stops and samples along the way.

How much walking is involved?

There is a moderate amount of walking, not more than 2 miles with plenty of rest stops in between. Please note that there are some stairs that we navigate during the tour. If stairs are a problem for you or any of your guests, please indicate that when you purchase your tickets so we can do our best to accommodate your needsAre there restroom stops?Yes! Restroom breaks are offered at every stop along the way!

How should I dress during a tour?

Please dress casual, comfortable, and appropriate for the different seasons in South Mississippi.

Are the walking tours given in bad weather?

All of our tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We will not be outdoors for the entire time. You should still dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions. It is impossible to cancel a tour at the very last minute due to many circumstances beyond our control. Before purchasing tickets please be aware of the possible weather conditions for that time of year. Also, check the weather forecast on the morning of the tour.

What restaurants will we visit on the tour?

We will visit a variety of different places. At this time, we are unable to name specific restaurants due to our ever changing menu options.
Foods we will sample may be: beignets, gumbo, shrimp and grits, Mississippi fries, popsicles, fried green tomatoes.

How much food is there?

At the end of the tour, most people are stuffed and lunch afterwards is not necessary. Some foods might be familiar and other might be a new experience for you!

Do I have to sign a liability waiver?

Yes.

Are Tasty Tours appropriate for children?

Tasty Tours are not recommended for children but you know your child's behavior and attention span. Whether to bring your child is ultimately up to your discretion, but please note that ALL CHILDREN, ages 3+, need a paid ticket. We assume that if your child is below age 3 than they will not be participating in the food tasting portion of the tour or that they might be sharing food with a parent. Therefore, for children below age 3, no ticket is required and there will not be a food portion dedicated to this child. If you'd like food for your child under 3, then please do purchase a ticket in advance. Either way, please INDICATE WHEN YOU SIGN UP WHETHER YOU ARE BRINGING A CHILD ON THE TOUR, SO THAT OUR TOUR GUIDE CAN BE PREPARED. Please also note that strollers are not advisable on the tour, due to the many narrow sidewalks that we walk on and the possibility of steps. If you have further questions pertaining to tickets for children, please contact us.

May I bring my dog on the tour?

Due to the various food establishments we visit (and their rules and regulations), pets of any kind are not allowed on this tour.

Are tours offered in languages other than English?

Sorry, tours are only offered in English at this time.

Are cameras allowed?

 
Yes! Please take all the pictures and make all the memories you want! Feel free to share on our social media and yours as well!

Can you make accommodations for food allergies or vegetarians?

At this time we CAN provide food substitutions for vegetarians on most tours but we CANNOT make food substitutions for any other food allergies (such as seafood, gluten-free or dairy-free). We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you have food allergies please contact us BEFORE purchasing a tickets for any of our food tours or events.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes. Our tickets are sold by Zerve. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Cash is not accepted. In addition, you may call Tasty Tours at 228-265-1138 for booking and more information.

Is everything included in the price of the tour?

Absolutely! Everything that is provided on our tour is included in the cost of our tour with the exception of alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages (and other beverages not offered on the tour itself) may be purchased additionally along the way by the participant, it is not included in the tour.

Can I book a private tour?

Yes! We offer courses for private events and corporate team building. We can accommodate a variety of special requests.
